Talkin’ Pucks-Will Maetzold (March 8)

MARCH 8-Full Show

This week’s guest: WIll Maetzold

SEGMENT 1-Show Open

The Blues are for real; It’s good to see Halak emerge as this team’s legitimate goaltender; Halak & Elliot have been driving force behind this PK streak; Detroit is slumping which is always good; Folks who make NHL schedule are morons; Who’s the team MVP (other than Halak & Elliot)?

SEGMENT 2-Will Maetzold

Will Maetzold, video producer for the Columbus Blue Jackets joins the show to talk chances of Rick Nash being a Jacket next season (he thinks they’re real good) and CBJ’s horrific season

SEGMENT 3-Eastern Conference

Let’s take a stroll around the NHL; There’s a good chance Washington misses the playoffs; Ovi is getting fat; Hopefully Crosby can stay healthy; Pittsburgh organization has a completely different (and better) culture to it than Washington’s; NHL should learn from the PGA and Tiger Woods;

The Full Court Press: Jarrett Sutton (March 7)

Image via RockMNation

I had the pleasure of chatting with Jarrett Sutton, senior guard for the Missouri Tigers, as he and the rest of the team prepare for March Madness, starting with the Big 12 Tournament,

I’m a little late posting this, but Jarrett did talk about the upcoming matchup with Oklahoma State as well as what coach Frank Haith’s practice regiment is heading into tournament season.

As always you can listen to the full 30-minute show all at once, or segment-by-segment.

March 7-FULL SHOW

SEGMENT 1-Senior Night

Trip to KC was smooth; There’s a hotel in downtown KC that does NOT have the Big 12 Network; Practices at Sprint Center are limited so they headed to Rockhurst College; Senior Day was a surreal experience; Loss to Kansas earlier this year was way tougher than loss to UConn in ’08; “That [loss in Lawrence] was definitely one of the worst feelings i’ve ever had.”

SEGMENT 2-Big 12 Tournament

Belated Oklahoma State preview; There is a lot for Mizzou to play for in the Big 12 Tourney; Everyone on that team is locked in on the task at hand; Coaches have to find a balance with practices, especially when you’re not a real deep team;

SEGMENT 3-NFL Talk

Baylor’s new uniforms…yikes; It’s kind of a distraction during warmups; Let’s talk some football!; P-Manning to the Chiefs?; Greg Williams is scum.

March 2-FULL SHOW

SEGMENT 1-SHOW OPEN

Recapping the latest SLU and Mizzou games

SEGMENT 2-Wiexlman Part 1

Thoughts on SLU’s win over Xavier; It has been a bad couple of days for the A-10; There’s plenty of parody in the A-10; Who’s going to replace Temple if they leave?; Fran Dunphy should win conference COY

SEGMENT 3-Wiexlman Part 2

SLU’s about as close a team could be to being a lock without being a lock; No one wants to face a Majerus team in the tournament; Duke would probably pose the most problems for SLU; What makes this team successful?

Next week on The Full Court Press: Jarrett Sutton will join the program to some Mizzou hoops as they prepare for the Big 12 tournament.
