April 2007-The Turret: Cadets, Jost win 9th title

Junior net-minder Peter Filip recorded the first shutout in Challenge Cup Championship history.

After an injury-riddled regular season, the 22-2-4 CBC Cadet Hockey squad entered their 7th consecutive Challenge Cup tournament.

Despite suffering consecutive losses to Howell and Vianney, the Cadets remained the team to beat in Missouri. With a roster consisting of mainly sophomores (11) and seniors (9), CBC featured one of the quickest, most potent offensive attacks in the area.

With 23 goals and 30 assists, Scott Keeven’s 53 points led the team. Fellow senior Grant Gorczyca with 51 followed him. As a team, the Cadets racked up a total of 494 points.
